Council On Aging

Dolores Kent

Dolores ‘Del’ Kent has worked for the Town of Easton for past 33 years.  Del was first appointed as Council on Aging and Recreation director in 1980.  After a departmental reorganization in 1982, she was appointed Veterans’ Agent and split her time between Veterans’ Services and Council on Aging.  In 2002, she became the town’s full-time Council on Aging director.

Del received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bridgewater State College and taught for seven years before switching her focus to elder services.  She has served on the Area Agency on Aging’s Advisory Committee and is a director of Old Colony Elder Services, Inc., as well as a member of the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging.

The Easton Council on Aging is the town department that provides or coordinates programs to meet the needs of Easton residents, age 60 or older. Services are provided with funding from municipal taxes, State and Federal grants along with private donations and volunteer services. Because of this support, many of the programs are offered free or at a nominal charge to our elderly residents. The Easton COA publishes a monthly newsletter, "The Coordinator", which is distributed throughout town and is mailed or e-mailed to Easton elderly and interested residents upon request. This newsletter includes information on programs and recreational activities as well as important topical information for seniors.

The Easton COA offers many services and programs dealing with Transportation, Nutrition, Finances, Outreach, Health, and Recreation. For more information, view our resource pages (links to your left) or contact the Easton Council on Aging Director, Del Kent at dkent@easton.ma.us or telephone (508) 238-3160 at Frothingham Hall, 15 Barrows St., North Easton, MA 02356.
