EXECUTIVE SESSION MINUTES
NOVEMBER 6, 2000
In attendance were Chairman Carla Goodwin, William Hardin, Leo Harlow, Jeffrey Tufts, Patricia Webster and Town Adm. Kevin Paicos.
Amendments were noted and Minutes will be corrected and put back on the next Agenda for approval.
Paicos noted the Board needs to formally vote that Martha White’s term ended as Interim Town Administrator.
Hardin’s motion, seconded by Tufts to approve a one-time merit sum for M. White, noting she did a fantastic job in extremely difficult times and did two jobs at one time, Interim TA and Assistant TA, for 2 weeks vacation, suggesting she take it to recharge her batteries, and a lump sum merit of $2,000, was not voted at this time.
Harlow noted he has difficulty giving merit during a fiscal crisis. Harlow noted she was well paid for the job even though it was a difficult job and she did a good job.
Webster noted White put in a lot of extra hours and she wants to reward her some way. Webster suggested either a one-time bonus of $1,500. or a week off with pay.
Paicos noted he believes she needs time off vs pay and urged a couple of weeks off with pay to be away from this building.
Goodwin noted she was more inclined to give a flat fee.
After much discussion, Webster noted that the Board should stand united on this issue.
Vote on the motion which was for two weeks vacation and a
$2,000 lump-sum merit bonus was voted unanimously by roll call.

in favor, Goodwin in favor.
On Harlow’s motion, seconded by Hardin, the Board voted unanimously by roll call to end the term of Martha White as Interim Town Administrator and to have a letter of appreciation/commendation put in her personnel file.

At 10:05PM, On Webster’s motion, seconded by Tufts the Board voted unanimously by roll call, to adjourn.
