Meeting Minutes

7/14/05

The Board of Selectmen met this evening at the Moreau Hall Elementary School Library, Washington Street, with Chair Colleen Corona presiding. Also in attendance were Charles King and Colleen Less. John Haederle and Irwin Cohen were not present. 6:50 pm.

Easton Middle School Construction Bids.

Colleen Corona read an e-mail from Robert Langway, Chairman of the Municipal Building Committee, recommending that the Board of Selectmen reject the Easton Middle School filed sub bids and general contractor bids received in May/June 2005. (See attached document.) The request to reject the bids was based on the fact that the lowest bid exceeded the amount appropriated for the project. On King’s motion, seconded by Less, the board voted unanimously to reject the bids for the Easton Middle School.

The board took a brief recess at 7:00 pm and reconvened at 7:10pm.

Southeastern Regional School Committee Appointment – Joint Meeting with the School Committee

Colleen Corona read a letter submitted by Mr. Ralph Armstead, 167 Center Street, requesting appointment to the vacancy on the Southeastern Regional Technical High School. (See attached document.) On King’s motion, seconded by O’Neil, the board voted unanimously with the members of the School Committee, to appoint Ralph Armstead to the Southeastern Regional Technical School Board.

On King’s motion, seconded by Less, the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 7:15 pm.
