Special Act Charter Committee
The Selectmen appointed the members of the Special Act Charter Committee at their meeting of May 5, 2008.The Special Act Charter Committee is comprised of three members, who are citizens of the Town of Easton. Town Council/Town Manager Charter for the Town of Easton, pursuant to the Government Study Committee recommendations of October 23, 2006. The Committee will present the completed Charter to the Board of Selectmen within six months.
The Special Act Charter Committee held a public hearing on Monday, December 7th at the Middle School Auditorium The committee reviewed and explained sections of the proposed new Town of Easton Charter. The Committee has yet to finalize any wording and is seeking continued public input and comments before it finalizes its recommendations to the Board of Selectmen. No committee votes will be taken at this meeting.
