Disposal of Unwanted Medications
The Board of Health was awarded a grant which was used to help purchase a drug kiosk for the disposal of unwanted medications. This kiosk is located for the convenience of Easton residents in the Police lobby at 46 Lothrop St.
The Grant was through the 2012 Local Public Health Mini-Grant Program – sponsored by the Massachusetts DPH in association with the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards. Previously the police department only accepted unwanted medications once a year during the town’s annual hazardous waste day. Now the public can drop off unwanted medications at their convenience. Storing unwanted or expired medications in a home can be dangerous, the kiosk allows for an environmentally safe way to dispose of these items.
Drop off of unwanted medications, including inhalers, can be done 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
