Queset Sewer Project

PROJECT UPDATES

  • 11/8/2018 - Queset Sewer Project – Detours and Weekend Work

    Northbound traffic on Washington Street (Route 138) between Plymouth Drive and Belmont Street will continue to be detoured through the Easton Industrial Park and onto Belmont Street until crews reach the intersection of Belmont Street.  The contractor is expected to reach Belmont Street on Sunday November 11th.  Southbound traffic on Washington Street will not be impacted.  Also, northbound traffic on Central Street approaching Washington Street will be detoured onto Depot Street.   Southbound traffic on Central Street will not be impacted.  Central Street will be open to local traffic at all times.  Access to businesses and properties on Washington between Plymouth Drive and Belmont Street will be available at all times through the southbound lanes.  Detour signs and police details will be present to guide motorists through the work zone.  Working hours for the project are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and will continue 7 days a week for the next two weeks.  The contractor will also be resurfacing the existing trenches during this time to improve the ridability for the winter.  Following a winter shutdown which will begin in approximately two weeks, the contractor will resume construction in the spring of 2019 to complete any outstanding work including permanent paving.  Thank you for your patience as we complete this important infrastructure project.  For additional information on the project, please see the project webpage.

  • 11/2/2018 - In an effort to complete as much work as possible prior to the end of the construction season (mid-November) crews will be working 7 days a week (weather permitting).  Detours will remain in place during working hours.   

  • 10/25/2018 - Beginning Monday October 29th, Northbound traffic on Washington Street (Route 138) between Plymouth Drive and Belmont Street will be detoured through the Easton Industrial Park and onto Belmont Street.  Southbound traffic on Washington Street will not be impacted.  Also, due to the location of the work zone, northbound traffic on Central Street approaching Washington Street will be detoured onto Depot Street.   Southbound traffic on Central Street will not be impacted.  Central Street will be open to local traffic at all times.  Access to businesses and properties on Washington between Plymouth Drive and Belmont Street will be available at all times through the southbound lanes.  Detour signs and police details will be present to guide motorists through the work zone.  The detours will be in place for the remainder of the construction season.  Working hours for the project are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Update 7/19/2018 - Construction will begin on Washington Street at the intersection of County Lane the week of July 23rd.  Motorists should use caution and expect lane closures during this work.  
  • Update 5/21/2018 - Construction will continue on County Lane for the week of May 21st. 
  • Update 4/13/2018 - Construction will continue on County Lane for the week of April 16th.
  • Update 4/6/2018 - Construction will continue on County Lane for the week of April 9th. 
  • Update 3/28/18 – Construction shall be localized to County Lane for the week of April 2nd.

PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW
The Queset Commercial District Sewer Project will provide sewer service to the Queset sewer needs area identified in the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan.

The construction for this project will include the installation of gravity sewer, force main sewer, a pump station and service laterals from County Lane to the Queset Commons along Washington Street.  Work will also occur on portions of County Lane, Plymouth Drive, Central Street and Belmont Street.

This project will provide sewer service to the properties along Washington Street from the Queset Commons to County Lane.  This project is scheduled to be substantially completed in the Fall of 2018.
Construction of the Queset Sewer District includes the following work:
The installation of 2,425 linear feet of sewer force main.
The installation of 4,000 feet of gravity main and manholes.
The installation of 1,350 feet of service laterals.
The installation of a pump station.
