Firearms Licensing Information

Items needed for an LTC or FID

LTC applicants must be 21 years old at the time of application.  FID applicants must be 18 years old or 15 years old with a letter from parent granting permission to apply.

NEW APPLICANTS:

  1. 1. Check or money order for $100 made payable to “Town of Easton”. NO CASH.
  2. 2. Completed and signed application.
  3. 3. Proof of residency or Easton business owner such as a tax bill or utility bill.
  4. 4. Copy of SAFETY or HUNTERS certificate for license type requested.
  5. 5. Driver’s license OR other photo ID.
  6. 6. Birth certificate OR valid passport.
  7. 7. Copy of DD-214 if ever in military showing discharge status.
  8. 8. TWO separate letters of reference from Non-Family members. Letters must contain language showing the author knows they are writing a reference for a firearms license. Letters must include the authors name, address and zip code.

RENEWAL APPLICANTS:

  1. 1. Check or money order for $100 made payable to “Town of Easton”. NO CASH.  (Age 70 and over is FREE for renewals only.)
  2. 2. Completed and signed application.
  3. 3. Current firearms license.
  4. 4. Driver’s license OR other photo ID.
  5. 5. If your current LTC or FID was not issued from the Easton Police, you must prove Easton residency such as utility bill or tax bill.

 

When you have ALL the required documents listed above, call the police department and schedule an interview with Officer Taylor at 508-230-3322 ext #3. All applicant’s whether new or renewal MUST meet with a firearms licensing official and cannot simply “Drop off” paperwork at the front desk. A new license interview takes about an hour including fingerprints, renewals take about 15 minutes and do not require fingerprints or references.
