The Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs and MEMA Director issued a DROUGHT ADVISORY this past Monday, October 27 for towns in the Southeast Region of the state.
The drought advisory is RETROACTIVELY EFFECTIVE TO  OCTOBER 1st , based onthe [then]below normal precipitation, streamflow and groundwater levels that occurred over the summer.

Although the area received significant rainfall last week, groundwater remains below normal levels and many streams still exhibit either no flow or significantly reduced flow.
