Town of Easton Employment Application


The Town of Easton Massachusetts is seeking an experienced fire service professional for the position of Fire Chief.  The Easton Fire Department is a full service fire department including EMS and ALS transport services. All positions with the exception of the Chief are civil service. The Fire Chief also serves as Emergency Management Director.  The department serves a population of 23,000 residents on 28 square miles of suburban land just minutes south of Boston, with three fire stations, 41 full-time union personnel, a full-time Deputy Chief, and Executive Assistant, with a $4.95M million dollar operating budget and significant capital planning responsibility. Recommended qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in fire science, or related field and demonstrated administrative and supervisory skills, ten (10) years progressive experience with at least five years of increasingly responsible command experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will undergo a background check, substance screen, physical and psychological exam and comply with Massachusetts statutes regarding tobacco use. The successful candidate must also possess a valid Class D Motor Vehicle Driver’s License and provide proof of an acceptable driving record from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.  

Base salary range - $117,480 - $155,004.  Starting base salary and generous benefits package depending on qualifications and subject to final contract negotiations.
