Rental Assistance

The RAFT Program is a homelessness prevention program funded by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). RAFT provides short-term financial assistance to low-income families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Contact information and additional information can be foundhere.

**On March 25, Governor Baker announced new funding under the Residential Assistance to Families in Transition (RAFT) program. This funding will provide short-term emergency financial assistance to help eligible Homeowners and Renters by assisting with mortgage payments, rent, utility bills, and other costs.

Important Information:

DHCD is urging operators and owners of private, affordable housing to suspend all action on nonemergency evictions during the COVID-19 State of Emergency. This guidance also reminds owners and operators that the Massachusetts Housing Court has suspended all non-emergency proceedings during the State of Emergency, and that voucher holders with either project-based vouchers, or mobile vouchers can have their rent re-calculated if there is a loss of income due to the COVID-19 emergency (
