The aerial spraying has reduced the number of mosquitoes infected with EEE. The cooler temperatures have affected the activity of the remaining mosquitoes. Given the reduced population and the lower activity, it is especially concerning that this week Easton had three pools test positive for the presence of the EEE virus, as reported yesterday by the DPH. The virus is still being isolated in more than one species of mosquito. We urge you to make personal protection of yourself and loved ones a priority by avoiding exposure to mosquitoes. Please visit the Easton Board of Health’s webpage, and then see the left blue sidebar “Mosquito Information” for press releases and additional ways to protect yourself from mosquito-borne diseases.
